What We Do

We all do a little of everything. Archives and Records Management is focused on Dartmouth history; special collections librarians are focused on books, manuscripts, and teaching; processing specialists are focused on metadata creation, collections arrangement and description (both digital and analog); reference staff are focused on public services including remote inquiries and scanning services. We have three main responsibilities:

1. We support the curriculum through direct instruction with primary sources.
2. We are open to the public.
3. We actively collect materials that document Dartmouth's history and enhance teaching and learning.
