Repositories that suit your research and data set archiving, sharing, and access needs.
Publishing Data
It's important to keep your research data safe for long-term public access and reuse. Research Data Repositories are for the long-term archiving and preservation of research data.
Depositing your research data into a repository will ensure your data sets are secure and make your research easier to build upon. Data repositories may cater to a specific discipline, a region, a type of data, specific formats, or accept many different types of data. There is no one-size-fits-all for research data repositories.
Dartmouth Libraries recommends that you deposit your data in a discipline-specific repository for maximum impact and discoverability in your field. Funders and publishers often have preferred repositories to meet their requirements.
- Always check with your funder or publisher for their specific guidance before choosing a repository.
- For help selecting the right repository for your research data, ask Research Data Services.
