Getting Here

Sherman Art Library is located inside Baker-Berry Library. For information about transit and parking, follow directions from Baker-Berry.

There are two ways to enter the Sherman Art Library:

  • entering from North Main Street onto the main floor, Carpenter Hall, turn right to the library
  • entering from inside Baker-Berry Library, follow the hallway along the Berry Library circulation desk.

Art Special Collections

Want to view items from the Art Special Collection?

To ensure safety of our materials and proper staffing, items from the Art Special Collections can be viewed in Evans Map Room. Here is how it works:

  • Book a single 45-minute appointment or multiple appointments for more time.
  • Let us know which items you want to view by including them in your appointment request.
  • Come to the Evans Map Room, on the second floor of Baker Berry Library, to view your items.
  • Remember to bring your Dartmouth ID and a pencil! Pens, food, and drink are not allowed while viewing materials.
