My name is Noah Campbell and I am a Government Major and African and African American Studies minor. I was a student librarian in the Paddock Music Library.

I chose The Black Liberator because it was the first book I remember reading in high school that fully geared me towards Black history and politics. As my father is from Haiti, I resonated with the history of Haitians independence and with the current events in the country, I found this book even more relevant. As Black people continue to fight against injustices all over the globe, the story of Haiti’s independence can be an inspiring story to many.

As I reflect on my senior year, I am fortunate to have gotten this far with my family and loved ones and I look forward to what the future holds.
