Since beginning her career at the library in June 1980 as a Serials Assistant, Julie has progressively advanced to become the Acquisitions Services Supervisor by December 2005. Known for her approachable leadership style, she maintains an open-door policy for colleagues seeking guidance and currently manages a team of four staff members.
Throughout her tenure, Julie demonstrated significant commitment to the Dartmouth College Library Staff Association (DCLSA), serving as the Welfare Representative for an extended period. Her dedication and exceptional service were recognized through prestigious awards, including the annual "Buckingham Award" in 2014 for outstanding service to the DCLSA.
In 2023, Julie reached another milestone by receiving the Jeffrey L. Horrell Award, which honors a library staff member who embodies Dean Horrell's values. This recognition celebrates her remarkable contributions to the library's work environment, including her commitment to inclusivity, organizational enthusiasm, genuine concern for colleagues, and unwavering professional standards both on campus and within the broader community.
