Susan is an infectious digital storytelling facilitator who helps people gain an understanding of the power of media by creating it and not just consuming it. She has been teaching people across the globe to tell stories through media for over 20 years. Susan is the creative powerhouse behind Dartmouth's digital storytelling initiatives that span across multiple academic disciplines and has taken her, along with her students, to places like Argentina and Vietnam. She’s on a mission to help people find their voice through story.
If you're interested in rethinking traditional written assignments or testing and would like to explore ways to incorporate a multimedia assignment, Susan will help you brainstorm your ideas, help align the media assignment with your course objectives, and support you and your students throughout the process.
As Learning Spaces Manager, I support faculty, staff, and students in their use of digital media technologies throughout the teaching and learning spaces of the Jones Media Center. I oversee the professional equipment loan program, supervise the Multimedia Lab Technician, and teach workshops on advanced digital media software. I have a strong background in music, play piano and guitar, draw cartoons, design book covers, and am in a very happy place when I view the world from a mountain top.
As the Multimedia Lab Technician, I lead workshops on digital media, help folks with any digital media needs, assist in the management of the Center's computers, supervise the Creative and Technical Assistant student employees, and work the front desk handling digital media and audio/video equipment. I also make films, love cooking, play the guitar, and enjoy hanging out with my best friend, Shana. I'm here to help, so stop in and say hello!
