Grønlandske Snit by Kâle Rosing, 1911-1974
Kâle Rosing was born in Ammassalik, Greenland in 1911, but grew up in Denmark in an artistic family. He returned to Greenland after World War II and spent much of his life between there and Copenhagen.
He was primarily a graphic artist, and his linocuts and drawings utilize striking contrasts between light and dark to create memorable images. This collection of eight signed prints highlights the stark realities of living within the Arctic Circle, as well as the myths and legends of his native Greenland.
Published in København [Copenhagen] by Nordiske Landes Bogforlag and Arnold Busck Boghandel in 1967.
