Invisible Women makes clear how our modern society is implicitly designed for men by accepting men as the default gender and marking women down as a 'deviation.' It explores the ways that this inherent bias makes life more difficult, more complex, and even more deadly for all those who identify outside of the male gender. From car crash survival rates, to medical bias, to who receives humanitarian aid, the gender data gap ensures that women are viewed as an exception to the norm, an inherent sexism that can often cost us our lives.
