The Double X Economy: The Epic Potential of Women's Empowerment (2020) provides a comprehensive narrative of the systematic exclusion of women from the world financial order. Linda Scott delicately mixes compelling storytelling with well-researched quantitative data to explain women's lived experiences of systemic discrimination and exclusion in the east, west, current time, and recent and ancient past. This read validates women's experiences through sound evidence and expands understanding and empathy by providing perspective on various women's experiences around the world. Moreover, The Double X Economy succinctly sets out facts, numbers, and narratives that allow men to understand women's experiences and see the world from their shoes. Finally, Scott concludes with recommendations for tackling gender inequality that will benefit all readers.

I am an Environmental Studies major and Geography (Urban Studies) minor moving to New York City as a financial analyst post-graduation. I aspire to work ESG management, impact investment, and DEI into my life's work in the financial sector.

At Dartmouth, I worked freshman through senior year at Rauner Special Collections Library as a Student Reference Assistant helping on- and off-site patrons access material in Dartmouth's archives for independent research projects.

Finishing undergrad during COVID-19 helped me appreciate life more. I am most grateful I was able to continue working on-site at Rauner with Morgan, Scout, and Peter for winter and spring of senior year.
