Dartmouth Libraries & William Jewett Tucker Center Collaborate on Much-Needed Space

In November 2024, Dartmouth Libraries collaborated with the William Jewett Tucker Center to create a pilot Meditation, Prayer, and Reflection Nook on the north side of Baker Stacks 5, just over the bridge from Berry 3 in Baker-Berry Library. The nook is open to anyone, regardless of their religious affiliation, who would like to use it for silent reflection, meditation, or prayer. The space aligns with the Libraries' strategic framework and commitments to meet students where they are, and to compliment and amplify initiatives that support student mental health and provide welcoming environments.

Absolutely love this prayer space. I discovered it today and was genuinely happy with it. My prayer obligations often break my studying stamina... This new space will definitely be a game changer for how I balance my studies and religious obligations. I appreciate the curtain, the cushions, and the respectful signs placed around the space. Thank you for providing this area.
