Collections Care Program at Dartmouth Libraries

The Collections Care program encompasses five streams of expertise: conservation, digital preservation, disaster preparedness and emergency response, environmental monitoring, preservation, and stacks maintenance.

Effective and holistic collections care is crucial to ensuring the long-term availability of Dartmouth’s scholarly resources. Our work ensures the preservation and maintenance of our materials, including books, journals, manuscripts, audiovisual materials, three-dimensional objects, and digital collections. The team also supports the repair and preservation of specialty items from the Hood Museum of Art.

Knowing we have such a fabulous group of people caring for our books and manuscripts frees us to utilize Special Collections materials to their full potential.
