Dr. Mashrekur Rahman is an AI Research Data Science Specialist at Dartmouth Libraries, leveraging his expertise in machine learning (ML), computer vision, and natural language processing to advance library systems, research support, and teaching.
As a former Postdoctoral Scholar at the USDA’s Sustainable Agricultural Water Systems unit, he developed state-of-the-art ML pipelines for Earth Systems Modeling. During his Doctorate at UC Davis, Mashrekur used AI to analyze hydrological science evolution, model human-drought interactions, and forecast floods, with grants from NASA, NOAA, USDA, and Google. Mashrekur has also contributed to global environmental policymaking and science communication, earning commendations for his global climate leadership.
