Caitlin Birch

Caitlin manages the next generation of archives and manuscripts at Rauner Special Collections Library: born-digital files with enduring historical value. She is responsible for the development and implementation of policies, infrastructure, and workflows to steward digital collections from acquisition and processing to discovery and use. Caitlin is especially interested in engaging born-digital primary sources in teaching and learning at Dartmouth.

Under the umbrella of her work with digital collections, Caitlin also leads the Library's web archiving initiative and the Dartmouth College Oral History Program. Her efforts with the latter include stewardship of existing oral history collections, development and leadership of new projects, and teaching of oral history theory and methods.
